Love Island is officially back with its 11th season on ITVX — and naturally, there’s already been plenty of grafting, scheming and snogging. After reality star Joey Essex arrived in the villa as the first bombshell (and the show’s first-ever celeb contestant), things quickly got a tad dramatic.
Joey chose to couple up with Samantha Kenny, leaving Sam Taylor single and dumped from the villa. The following day, things got even more dramatic — after all, this is Love Island we’re talking about.

Who is Samantha Kenny?
Samantha is a 26-year-old makeup artist from Liverpool. As she told ITV before entering the villa, she thinks her family would describe her as “fun, outgoing, confident and a bit unpredictable.”
She added, “I think I will definitely bring some fire, I’m very opinionated and wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m really bubbly too so I’ll definitely have a laugh as well as bringing some Scouse glamour.”
She explained that she decided to apply for the show because she is “ready to settle down” and she’s hoping to meet someone from a different part of the country. “I love the boys down south,” she said. “Tall, dark and cockney is my type.”
Samantha’s Love Island journey so far
In episode 1, Samantha was in the third group to enter the infamous Mallorcan villa, walking in alongside Mimii Ngulube, joining Nicole, Ayo, Jess, Sean and Sam. In the first coupling, Samantha was paired with Sam Taylor after a game that saw the boys and girls ranking each other based on most to least “girlfriend or boyfriend material.” Samantha and Sam were both placed in 5th position.
