If you’re in the business of commuting to an office, be that full-time or hybrid, you’ve probably Googled what the best work clothes for women are (on more than one occasion).

Stella McCartney featured several suits, Victoria Beckham updated work outfits with modern cut-outs and waistcoat looks, Erdem went Saville Row with pinstripes and double-breasted blazers, and Peter Do reminded us of the failsafe trouser-and-shirt combo.
Depending on your office’s dress code (i.e. is it boardroom smart or does it lean towards the casual side?), basics like one of the best blazers, some wide-leg trousers, a crisp white shirt and some loafers will never go amiss. And of course, you’ll need one of the best work bags/best laptop backpacks to boot.
Stick to relatively muted colours for these fundamental items – with black, grey, white and navy hues – as these will go with everything. Then you have the sartorial freedom to get creative and add brighter pops and patterns elsewhere; like through your knitwear/sweaters, jewellery and other accessories. There’s no need to buy a whole new wardrobe when it comes to the best work clothes for women, just the odd few pieces. Keep things classic and you’ll struggle to go wrong.
