‘Transphobia will never be GLAMOUR’: We’re living for Charlie Craggs statement tee

Charlie Craggs single-handedly resurrected the statement tee at GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year Awards in partnership with Samsung. She hit the red carpet wearing an oversized white t-shirt which read, ‘Transphobia Will Never Be Glamour’.

The former GLAMOUR cover star accessorised the look with black velvet gloves, white hair ribbons, a pearl necklace, and a statement red lip. In short, she looked absolutely stunning.

As one of a whole host of special guests, Charlie attended the awards on Tuesday, 17th October, at One Marylebone. She was joined by the likes of Lily Allen, Halle Bailey, Georgia Harrison, Hannah Waddingham, Ariana DeBose, America Ferrera and The Lionesses.

Charlie was previously celebrated as part of GLAMOUR’s International Women’s Day celebrations, in which she spoke about experiencing transphobia in public and how – shockingly – no one intervened. She told GLAMOUR, “Violence against women and trans women isn’t going to stop because women protest it; it’s going to stop when men stop. So having them on board is vital.”

She also spoke about how more people can get involved with activism, saying, “It’s become too political […] People are like, ‘Oh, I’m not going to wade into that in case I say the wrong word.’ She rolls her eyes. “But it’s actually just about recognising what is right and what is wrong in really simple terms – like violence is wrong.”

Speaking about the inspiring event, Deborah Joseph, European Editorial Director at GLAMOUR, said: “With so many incredible women who have stepped up, raised their voice and challenged the status quo in 2023, there is plenty to celebrate at this year’s GLAMOUR Women of the Year. We can’t wait to bring together the change-making women from all walks of life for our annual celebration of feminism in all its forms.”
