These YSL lipsticks give you the juiciest satin finish that you need to see for yourself

YSL lipsticks, which come wrapped in that beautifully golden packaging with that iconic black embossing, define the word ‘chic’. The brand has launched lipsticks in many different formulations but one thing remains consistent: the quality, and their timeless elegance. This launch comes in the form of the Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks, £35, which provide a luxurious blend of sophistication and hardworking formulation.

Their enhanced formula contains a fusion of the essence of tuberose and prickly pear flower extracts sourced from ourika community gardens, along with the nourishing benefits of ceramides. The texture is creamy, so that it can glide across the lips effortlessly and the finish is satin like, leaving lips feeling as soft as they look.

These lipsticks sound dreamy as they’re designed to pamper your lips while delivering epic, rich colour deposit so we’ve put them to the test. Here, five GLAMOUR staffers share their truest and most honest thoughts.

Shade: Rouge Muse (RM)

I’m not big on lipsticks, I’m very much team gloss or team lip balm, so it would take a lot to convert me. I think that if I’m going to wear lipstick, it would have to be a juicy red hue, hence why I opted to try this new YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Rouge Muse of course.

I’m automatically sold on the packaging; the gold and black casing is beautifully elegant and pretty timeless. The formula glides effortlessly from end to end on the lips, and although I needed a few swipes to really get the full colour deposit, I was okay with that. It made it more universal as it could go from a quiet sheer finish that is buildable to a max power colour. As promised the finish is givin’ satin cushion, simply divine to gaze at, and it feels as plush on the lips as it looks. Although I’m not a full lipstick convert, as far as lipsticks with satin finishes go, YSL is definitely onto something here.
