First, there’s her new tight, piece-y waves, worn in a free-spirited, mussed-up style. She’s also gone blonder with an ‘Olsen dip’, where the ends of her hair are sun-kissed but the roots remain intentionally dark and worn-in. Think a root smudge, combined with a dip dye and you get the picture.
“It really pushes the idea that you had your hair done a few months ago, as opposed to it been freshly done,” says celebrity hair stylist Luke Hersheson of the colour trend. “I really like that blend, but it being much more extreme so it feels a bit rock n roll.”
On the one hand, nothing about the look is too perfect or polished. On the other, it’s the most pitch-perfect hair style for easy-breezy summer days.
Rather than a hairdryer and round brush, use a triple-barrel waver such as Hershesons The Long Hair Multi-Tasker or ghd Wave to recreate the look – then gently shake the curl out before it sets. Finally, pair it with dry shampoo and texturising spray (we rate Ouai Wave Spray Luxe) for a finishing touch worthy of an Olsen.
