Dua Lipa is no stranger to a killer collaboration. So far in her career, the Houdini singer has joined forces with everyone from Andrea Bocelli (yes, that Andrea Bocelli) to Miley Cyrus, Elton John, and Megan Thee Stallion. Now, the singer is opening up about one of her hopeful collaborations and if it falls in the realm of K-pop.
Dua Lipa, who just released her second NPR Tiny Desk concert, is gearing up for the start of her Radical Optimism world tour, which will kick off in Asia next month with stops in Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and finally South Korea. To celebrate the occasion, Lipa was interviewed by South Korean outlet MyDaily, where she opened up about her past K-pop collaborations with BLACKPINK and MAMAMOO’s Hwasa.
Speaking to MyDaily, Lipa admitted she’s long been a fan of both BLACKPINK and Hwasa’s music, so linking up with them for 2018’s Kiss and Make Up and the remix of 2020’s Physical was a no-brainer for her. While chatting about K-pop, she also revealed the K-pop group she would love to possibly collaborate with in the future, and it’s none other than LE SSERAFIM.
Though only a bit over two years into their career, LE SSERAFIM already boast collaborations with the likes of Demi Lovato, Nile Rodgers, PinkPantheress, and more. Speaking to iHeartRadio earlier this year, LE SSERAFIM opened up about their own dream collaborations, name-checking 2025 Primavera Sound Barcelona headliners Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter as their top choices but admitting they were “excited to work with anybody.”
For now, Dua Lipa x LE SSERAFIM is nothing but a manifestation, but we will keep our eyes peeled to see which idols attend Lipa’s concerts in South Korea. Lipa will take to the stage in Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on December 4 and 5, 2024, with the second date added due to popular demand. The concerts will mark the first time the singer performs in the country since 2018.
