Corsage nails are the most perfect party season manicure

Pass us a cranberry margarita because Christmas party season has started. And, if we’re swilling cocktails we might as well have a glitz mani while we’re at it.

Corsage nails may just be the most stunning way to next-level your manicure and double down on the glam, ready for a season of socialising. And if there were ever a time to up the ante on your mani, it’s now. But if cherry reds and glitter polishes aren’t your thing, corsage nails offer an eye-catching alternative that’s guaranteed to collect compliments.

What are corsage nails?

Like the corsage you would find tied to wrists or decorating necks, corsage nails feature a 3D flower detail (or details) that offer up pretty embellishment and give your mani extra dimension. We first noticed the trend on luxury nail artist, Iram Shelton’s Instagram. She shared a dainty foil and bead flower design.

How to wear corsage nails?

They key if you’re going more complex with the design, is to keep the base clean and simple. Prep is important, so you (or your manicurist) will need to spend time tidying cuticles, buffing the nail bed and ensuring the shape is immaculate, before applying a sheer barely-there nude or pink base coat on top. As for the design, it’s all about accessorising your nails like you would when you layer up jewellery. “Mixed metals are my favourite thing ever when it comes to nails and jewellery,” Iram explained. She contrasted her silver foil petals with a dinky golden bead at the centre, but we’ve also seen 2D painted flowers levelled-up with gemstone and crystal details.
