But odds are good for a Rih appearance on the carpet. Not only because she’s attended many times, but also because her boyfriend and co-parent, A$AP Rocky, is one of the evening’s co-chairs, along with Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, and Pharrell Williams, and honorary chair LeBron James. With A$AP Rocky’s attendance confirmed, it stands to reason that she’ll attend to support him and walk the steps together.

That said, there’s precedent for a significant other being a no-show. Ben Affleck notably skipped the gala the year his then-wife, Jennifer Lopez, was a cochair. In that case, his absence was probably some combination of a busy schedule and the fact that the couple were on the brink of breaking up. As far as we know, Rocky and Rihanna are still going strong. The only reason she didn’t go last year was a bout of the flu.
