Awhina and Adrian gave us drama, drama, drama. Their wedding day was filled with excitement, especially with the discovery that they were both twins. But a major hurdle emerged early on when Awhina revealed she is a mother to a six-year-old son, which conflicts with Adrian’s preference for a partner without children.
Despite numerous ups and downs, including Adrian briefly leaving the experiment due to a disagreement over a promotional shoot, they ultimately chose to remain together for a significant portion of the experiment. However, Awhina’s hesitancy to introduce Adrian to her son, citing the “chaotic” nature of their relationship, spoke volumes about the underlying instability.
The latest on the pair is that Adrian has been making “cheeky” comments on social media, which imply the pair are no longer together. When all the remaining couples were given the chance to meet their ‘back-up matches’, both Awhina and Adrian agreed. Now, it seems Adrian might be with his back-up match, Maxine, instead of Awhina.

Ashleigh and Jake had a great initial attraction, but it all went downhill from there. Their wedding day showed promise, with a visible physical attraction between them, but fundamental differences in their personalities and approaches to the experiment began to surface during the honeymoon.
One major issue that plagued their relationship was their communication style. Ashleigh often said she felt unheard and misunderstood by Jake, feeling like he was being dismissive or not fully engaged in their conversations. Jake, on the other hand, felt overwhelmed by Ashleigh’s emotional intensity and struggled to articulate his feelings.
As the experiment progressed, their contrasting lifestyles and goals became more apparent. Ashleigh seemed eager to dive into the experiment and build a deep connection quickly, while Jake was more reserved and less certain about the process. The pressures of the experiment, along with their communication difficulties, created a pretty volatile environment. The couple parted ways and left the experiment in week three.
