Selena Gomez has declared this the offbeat nail colour of spring

Selena Gomez isn’t one to follow the rulebook when it comes to her nail shades. While the vast majority of us are swapping out dark oxblood polish for a ballerina pink heading into spring (both strong choices), Selena is determined to keep things interesting.

While lip-syncing to her new song, Call Me When You Break Up, in a video posted to her Instagram, Selena gives us a glimpse of the latest electric blue manicure she’s loving right now.

It’s a welcome change from the general current of pastels and florals, but it lands on the darker end of the spectrum of denim blue shades that are taking off this season.

Real ones will know that whenever there’s a new Selena mani, chances are there’s a Selena mani, chances are there’s one man behind it: Tom Bachik, her longtime nail artist. True to form, Tom was quick to repost the video to his Instagram account with all the intel on the exact nail shade he used to create the look. He tapped up a pro gel polish from Apres in the shade In The Navy, but for a similar look at home, we love Dior Vernis Nail Polish in 796 Denim or Peacci’s Electric Blue.

It’s not the first time Selena has opted for an offbeat shade. She was early on the olive green trend back in 2022 (which has since gone stratospheric), opting for an adorably awkward pickle coloured polish. Likewise, we’ve seen her rock skittle nails, with a different shade on each finger, neon slime green and tango orange, to keep things playful.

So, if you want to skip the sorbet lilacs, pinks and mints that are just starting to take off as we look towards the new season, Selena Gomez has the perfect anti-spring mani for you.
