Ema asks Marcos point blank if he killed Martina, and he snaps and tries to kill her by striking her over the head with a rowing oar and trying to drown her while she was unconscious. Luckily, Ema gains consciousness in time and manages to escape and broadcast live on social media that Marcos just tried to kill her. While he begs his wife not to check her phone until they can speak and he can explain himself, he then deliberately crashes his truck into a logging truck.
Who killed Martina?
So while Marcos was a prime suspect for a while, it is then revealed that a rather different series of events led to Martina’s death.
After noticing Armando (Martín Miller)’s drawings in the background of a photo of Martina at her memorial, Ema heads to Armando’s house to investigate. She confronts him with the photograph, leading him to admit that he was on the boat with Martina on the night that she disappeared.
We see a flashback of the two of them, as they bond over feeling out of place. They took the boat back to Armando’s house and hooked up, but the mood is ruined when Martina sees the video of Leo being framed and immediately calls Marcos to demand what he’s done. When she admits to Armando that Leo is innocent and she was set up.

Armando is angry, demanding to know why she was involved in something like this. The argument escalated and led to Armando pushing her down the stairs in a panic, killing her by accident. Juliana, Armando’s mother, comes home to find him at the foot of the stairs holding Martina’s body. They dispose of her body and plant her phone at Leo’s campsite.
While Juliana pleads with Ema to not report the truth, Armando steps forward and insists he would go to the police and confess.
