If you still consider Millie Bobby Brown’s signature hairstyle a shaved head, no offence, but you really haven’t been paying attention since the first (or fourth) season of Stranger Things.
Now 21 years old, the actor has gone through a number of fun phases of different hairstyles, but no look has been quite as many miles from her buzzcut days as her current ‘90s bombshell blonde—and from the look of her latest red carpet appearance, there’s a very specific blonde bombshell she’s trying (and succeeding) to channel.
When Millie revealed her new hair colour earlier this month, we understandably made the argument that she was looking a whole lot like Britney Spears. But while she definitely served up some serious Y2K pop princess vibes, it seems she’s going a teensy bit further back in time to convey one of the most recognisable hairstyles of a solidly ’90s icon: Pamela Anderson.
And she’s not alone – earlier this month, Miley Cyrus also recently wore her hair in a Pammy updo for the SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
On Monday, February 24, at the world premiere of The Electric State at Los Angeles’ Egyptian Theatre, Millie Bobby Brown wore a sparkling, sculptural gown by Annie’s Ibiza, a pointy, black-tipped French manicure with three-dimensional gold squiggles, and a timeless neutral-glam makeup that included rosy lips with soft brown contouring, subtly winged black liner, and classic pink blush.
But it’s Millie’s hair that instantly sparks memories of Pammy’s famous tousled updo.
