Love Island just confirmed its 2024 start date – here’s what we know so far

“Where there’s love, there’s fire 🔥 Love Island — coming soon to ITV2 and ITVX,” the caption read.

So, how soon is soon?

Well, based on previous seasons, Love Island tends to kick off some time in June. Last year, it began on Monday, June 5th and the year before was Monday, June 6th.

This leads us to hypothesise that Love Island could be coming as soon as Monday, June 3rd. Eek! Time to cancel literally all of our weeknight plans for the next two months.

How often are episodes airing?

While this hasn’t been officially confirmed, we have a hunch.

For the past few years, Love Island has stuck to a pretty rigid structure — that is, episodes every night at 9pm on ITV2, apart from Saturdays, when a round-up of extra moments (aka, “Unseen Bits”) from the week before is aired instead (these love birds need a break, after all).

This year will see a concurrent launch on ITV1, ITV2 and ITVX in the same way Big Brother and Love Island: All Stars did earlier in the year.

Love Island 2024 cast

The contestants for 2024 are yet to be confirmed — however, there are a few rumoured singles allegedly heading to the villa, including Welsh rugby player Ciaran Davies, Mancunian model Grace Jackson, makeup artist Samantha Kenny and daughter of Lauren Simon, Gigi Simon.
