First the Mean Girls reunion commercial and now this? Lindsay Lohan has officially reunited with Freaky Friday costar and on-screen mom Jamie Lee Curtis.
Before she took on the role of Cady Heron in Tina Fey’s 2004 masterpiece, Lohan played the Curtis’ rebel daughter in the iconic body-swap comedy, which has somehow remained untouched by Hollywood’s obsession with reboots, sequels and musical adaptations… For now, at least.
Twenty years after the 2003 release of Freaky Friday, Curtis documented a recent reunion with her on-screen daughter while hinting at a possible follow-up movie.
“Too late. YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY,” Curtis captioned a selfie with Lohan on 10 November. “Well, it’s Friday, and the strike is over so hopefully, we can switch places again in the near future!”

Jamie Lee Curtis actually pitched her own Freaky Friday 2 premise in October 2022, petitioning Hollywood to let her play a “sexy grandma” alongside Lohan. “Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon,” Curtis said during an appearance on The View. “I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world.”
A month later, Lohan confirmed that Curtis reached out to her about the idea while she was filming another project. “Jamie Lee Curtis writes you, and you just get excited and distracted immediately, so I had to bring myself back down to earth,” Lohan told Jimmy Fallon. “And then she said, Freaky Friday 2, and I got more excited.”
