Kate Middleton just gave a masterclass in wearing sky-high heels

Kate Middleton has a go-to look. You know the one. Polished hair, power suit, colour coordinated jewellery, and – usually – comfortable pumps.

So rarely does the Princess of Wales stray from these low-heeled shoes that when she does we notice.

Like earlier this week when she stepped out wearing her trusty pair of Gianvito Rossi 105 suede pumps in Midnight Blue – called as such due to the 10.5cm heel, or 4.1 inches.

It’s not the first time she’s worn this exact pair of shoes. In fact, Kate Middleton Style, a blog that tracks everything Kate wears, says she’s worn the shoes 11 times since they were first debuted last year.

Kate’s blue Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen suit is a favourite too. While she hasn’t worn this exact shade before, she owns the suit in several different hues, including blush pink, white, and a deeper shade of blue. She tends to favour either the cigarette-style trousers or, occasionally, a wide leg style.

The Princess wore the heels to the Evelina London Children’s Hospital where she opened the new Children’s Day Surgery Unit.

Kate has been an ambassador for the hospital since 2018, and toured the new facilities which will allow the hospital to treat an additional 2,300 children annually.

Her designer suit was paired with a high street jumper – a style choice Kate often prefers – as she wore an older season Jigsaw ‘Katharine’ Cloud Cashmere Knit in ‘Air Force Blue’.

She kept her jewellery in the blue theme too, wearing a blue sapphire pendant with a halo of diamonds around it. Her drop earrings matched the pendant, and both appeared to be a similar style to her blue sapphire engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

It’s the second time this week that Kate has made a nod to Diana with her jewellery choices. Later that evening, during a Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace, Kate wore the Lover’s Knot Tiara which is dotted with diamonds and hanging pearls – a favourite tiara of her late mother-in-law.

The whole ensemble, which included a rose gold-hued Jenny Packham gown, is the same one she wore to the Jordanian Royal Wedding reception back in June, and we mean the exact same. Everything from the dress, to the tiara, to the shoes and the bag were an exact match.
