Julia Roberts, your ultra-chic curtain bangs have inspired me to get the chop

Oh, hello curtain bangs – you’ve never looked better.

You might recall, Julia Roberts basically broke the internet back in March when she stepped out with a new full fringe. At the time, her hair stylist Serge Normant told People that the statement-making transformation didn’t actually involve much planning. “With Julia, we had been talking about bangs that she wore in the past. She always liked them so it was very spontaneous!” he said. Well, Serge has been working his magic again – as the actor just debuted a shaggier version of the style, and we reckon these might be her chicest curtain bangs to date.

Julia Roberts’ new curtain bangs

Julia’s new hairstyle has been shared online by her fashion stylist Elisabeth Stewart, who has been working with the actor on her press tour for Leave The World Behind. Her shaggy bangs perfectly suit the soft auburn shade that Julia is currently wearing, with the fringe cut slightly longer than eyebrow level. As curtain bangs do, they fall to the side like, er, a curtain – where they become slightly longer and merge into the front section. So. Chic.

How to get curtain bangs

The great thing about Julia Roberts’ chic new curtain bangs is that they are massively versatile – and honestly, anyone can wear them. They’re ideal if you want to subtly change something or let your bangs grow out. Best of all, they pretty much work on every face shape, too.

However, something to note about curtain bangs is that they do take some upkeep – you need fairly regular trims, or they will just grow too long. Luckily, we’ve got an all-encompassing guide to curtain bangs here that will tell you everything you need to know, plus plenty of inspiration for how to make the cut work for you. But for now, we’re still swooning over Julia’s new look.
