Cobra Kai fans, we join you in your grief. It looks like Netflix may just given us the final season of the Karate Kid TV show spin-off in the form of a three-part series finale.
Starring Karate Kid stars William Zabka and Ralph Macchio, the show has continued the story 30 years on from the release of the original film.
Will Cobra Kai come back for another season? After all, the dojo’s motto is quite literally “Cobra Kai never dies”, does this apply to the show?
Here’s what we know about a possible Cobra Kai season 7.

Is Cobra Kai season 6 the final season of the series?
It looks like it, for right now. Certain storylines have been wound down to cater to a neat ending. With Johnny and Daniel’s long-term rivalry developing into a friendship, the All-Valley champs running their dojos, with Kreese and Silver both gone and Miguel, Tory and Robby having officially graduated – lots has come to an end.
Producer Jon Hurwitz has spoken out about what it meant to his team to be able to tie up the show their own way, with years of planning going into it.
“There are scenes in the final few episodes that we’ve been talking about for seven or eight years now. Some of them even longer,” he told Den of Geek. “It’s really exciting to be able to finish what we started in a way that has intent as opposed to just being told, ‘No more Cobra Kai,’ and the fans are left with an incomplete story.”

Will there be a Cobra Kai season 7?
For now, no. Nothing has been confirmed at time of writing, but we remain hopeful of another season as we’ve seen both The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai return unexpectedly many, many times. So we see no reason this might not happen further down the line.
Plus, there is a different kind of spin-off coming from the Cobra Kai universe. Both Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) will star in upcoming Karate Kid: Legends where both will train a new young karate prodigy. The movie is out in May this year, so there isn’t long to wait.
One thing is for sure, the show’s producers are keen to do more, spin-offs and new seasons, but nothing is promised for now.
“As writers and creators, there’s no guarantees of anything. When we entered into Cobra Kai, we weren’t guaranteed that [Cobra Kai star] Thomas Ian Griffith was gonna return to acting or anything,” producer Hayden Schlossberg told Games Radar. “So, you hope for things and then you find out what the reality is and then you make the best story. Our hope is that there’s more Karate Kid stories in the future.”
