Hailey Bieber is guilty of a major fashion faux pas: the model attended someone else’s wedding in a white dress. Hailey, along with her husband, Justin, was a guest at the wedding of Stephanie Shepherd, Kim Kardashian’s former assistant, and Larry Jackson, global director of Apple Music, in Beverly Hills over the weekend. And apparently, their dress code was extremely loose.
On Monday 26 June, Bieber posted several pictures and a video of her outfit on her Instagram grid (though she did not note the occasion she was dressed for in the caption). Per BuzzFeed, this was her guest attire: a white, long-sleeve gown with a turtleneck (is it autumn yet??) that exposed a smidge of side boob with an extreme back cut-out.
The 26-year-old styled the look similarly to how I styled myself for high school dances in the early 2000s: blue cream eye shadow, saturated pink blush, and a pink lip. She wore her sleek bob down in a dramatic side part with soft waves framing her face. “🦋🦋🐬🎀🎀🎀,” she wrote in the caption, which must be an emoji summary of the makeup. See the full look here:

It’s common wedding etiquette that guests should not wear white to a wedding. This is because, in Western culture, the colour white is reserved for the couple getting married. However, as wedding culture evolves away from its traditional roots, these ‘rules’ are being broken.
Instead, personal touches are in – the married couple doesn’t necessarily need to wear black and white, and I guess guests can? Or maybe the Shepherd-Jackson wedding had a theme? These days anything goes.
Other guests at the wedding included Kim Kardashian, who wore an underwear-exposing black gown, Kris Jenner, and Naomi Campbell. Although no official photos from the wedding have come out yet to indicate what colour the bride wore, it’s probably safe to assume that Shepherd was chill with Hailey Bieber violating wedding guest etiquette, and with her former boss showing her underwear. At least, we hope.
