I don’t know about you, but one of the reasons I always get excited for the Brit Awards is that the beauty looks actually bring the party. Other awards (naming no names) can sometimes feel a little serious and traditional, offering up a conveyor belt of smoky eyes and Hollywood waves. But, not the Brits.
Perhaps it’s another avenue of expression exploding to get out, but the musicians who hit the red carpet come ready to serve up experimental hair and makeup looks that keep us on our toes and even offer cute inspo. Let us not forget Geri Halliwell’s 1997 moneypiece highlights and Union Jack mini dress, Lady Gaga’s lace face mask in 2010 and Dua Lipa’s 2021 beehive hair.
True to form, Jade brought the mystery with an OOTD that looked like a homage to the corpse bride. She matched her light denim blue gown to a matching icy-blue eyeshadow that we would wear ourselves to brunch with the girls. Beabadoobee brought the noughties nostalgia with a handkerchief dress, which she paired with bratty liner, fresh-faced skin and a casual side-parting. Lola Young flexed her individuality with her calico-highlighted hair, whopper lashes and ’90s lip liner and Sabrina Carpenter kept it trademark with her infamous platinum curtain bangs, but wore her hair extra retro with Marilyn-worth curls.
