Blue Ivy Carter just gave the controversial cool girl trend her stamp of approval, and yes, we are talking about wearing sunglasses at night.
Over the weekend, Blue Ivy was spotted attending the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles, and she, of course, made sure her outfit was on point. In a couple of videos shared across social media (which you can see here and here), we can see Blue Ivy opted for an all-black look for the festival, opting for a leather jacket and jeans and carrying the memo all the way up to her eyes with the addition of sunglasses.
While the videos are too blurry actually to make out which exact pair she is wearing, they could very well be the same ones she sported to the 2025 Super Bowl, where she hopped on the cargo trouser trend while rocking a leopard print bag made by 25-year-old designer Ashley Ciriaco.

Wearing sunglasses at night is an equally loved and hated trend. While some say it’s pretentious, others consider it the epitome of coolness. There’s also a third opinion, which is the truest, which is that sunglasses at night are a must if you are sensitive to strobe lights and you know where there are a lot of those? Festivals!
Coincidentally, Blue Ivy had been spotted wearing sunglasses at night before, most notably when performing alongside her mum, Beyoncé, on her Renaissance Tour. The star rocked a similar all-black pair to perform onstage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 29, 2023.

While we don’t know whether Blue Ivy Carter wears her sunglasses at night for practicality, privacy, vibes, or a little bit of them all, one thing is undeniable: She does look pretty damn cool wearing them, and we wouldn’t expect less from the budding fashion icon!
