When it comes to the red carpet, you can always rely on Angelina Jolie to have two things on her bingo card: a crimson lip and sleek, side-parted hair.
Over the years, she has refined her demure, Old Hollywood aesthetic by sticking to Veronica Lake-esque waves paired with silk, figure-skimming gowns – notably her 2004 Oscars halter neck dress, which was an homage to Marilyn Monroe (and worn again by Sydney Sweeney at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar party).
But for her latest appearance, she decided it was time to dramatically switch up her hair. On 26 October, at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film Maria, Angelina Jolie stepped out with a new hairstyle that sat somewhere between brushed-out disco curls and ‘80s prom curls.
Created by hairstylist Renato Campora, the ringlets were swept over one shoulder, while on the other side they tumbled, halo-like, around her face. To add extra dimension, her roots were kept dark with finely-spun ‘glow lights’ on her mid-lengths and ends, which read bronde or vintage gold depending on how the light hit.
