Disney+ has come a long way since it launched in the UK back in March 2020.
Don’t get us wrong – from the get-go, we were loving the wealth of nostalgic films the streaming service offers, from Disney classics like the original Beauty and The Beast to remakes like 2019’s Beyoncé-starring The Lion King – plus Get A Clue, The Princess Diaries, Mrs. Doubtfire, Lizzie McGuire… all our trusty old favourites, basically, and the chance to watch musicals like Oklahoma and Hamilton from the comfort of our own homes.
There’s a whole range of TV and documentary offerings available on demand. From nature documentaries to reality shows and nostalgic classics (That’s So Raven marathon, anyone?), there’s plenty of choice for when a whole film feels like a little too much to commit to. And that’s before we’ve even delved into the incredible Disney+ original Marvel series’ like [WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier].
Not yet satisfied? Scroll further through the Disney+ archives and you’ll find an impressive catalogue of 30 entire seasons of The Simpsons – turns out Springfield is a pretty good place to escape to when the real world is scary – plus every episode of Lizzie McGuire you binged on when you were little, and Meghan Markle’s nature documentary, Elephant. It’s mesmerising.
If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, you’ll be delighted to know that some of the best shows from our teen years – Lost and Desperate Housewives, for example – are also available on the site.
