Zendaya’s style icon pedigree is rooted in trend-setting beauty looks. Especially her headline-stealing hairstyles. Whether she’s serving up an updo that masquerades as an undercut, lustrous wet-look hair at the Paris Olympics or an XXL plait with a coquette spin, it’s safe to say Zendaya isn’t afraid to give a fresh nod to a traditional look.
Case in point, on 10 October she stepped out in LA with a new blonde bob that was the definition of effortless chic.
Zendaya’s typical blueprint for a bob is side-parted with plenty of volume on top and bouncy ends neatly curled and tucked under. Length-wise, it tends to skim the tips of her shoulder blades.
But now it seems she’s hard-launching tousled, natural waves and a grown-out bob that taps into the trending clavi-cut (where the ends of the hair hit right at the collar bone).

A.K.A the ‘boho bob’, Zendaya’s new hair is characterised by a distinct softness and a bohemian, fuss-free spirit that is miles away from the artfully crafted bobs she normally favours for the red carpet.
To match the off-duty vibes of her grey jumper and black cargo pants combo, her hairstyle was more about natural movement than coaxed-in bounce as she allowed her strands to tumble casually around her makeup-free face.
Another noticeable difference is that she brushed her hair into a centre part, which she tucked nonchalantly behind her ears.
Even the honey blonde shade that has become her signature hue of late is distinctly lighter, veering into ‘70s creamy blonde territory. While her shattered blonde roots just add to the easy, breezy, low-maintenance appeal of Zendaya’s new hairstyle – especially when faced with autumn’s sea-sawing weather conditions of rain, humidity and wind.
Only Zendaya can make that awkward stage when you’re growing out a bob look effortlessly cool and chill. And we’re 100% here for it.
