Who killed Gerry Wade in Netflix’s Seven Dials?

Warning: absolutely major spoilers ahead for the new Netflix series Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials.

The latest Netflix mystery thriller has dropped, and – let’s face it – we all want to know whodunnit, right?

So let’s set the scene first. It’s the 1920s. Our protagonist and amateur sleuth Lady Eileen, aka Bundle (played by How To Have Sex star Mia McKenna-Bruce) is suspicious of the death of her almost fiancée – and good friend of her brother, who died in WW1 – Gerry Wade, played by Princess Charlotte star Corey Mylchreest. It is suggested that he died by suicide due to PTSD, but Bundle suspects otherwise, seeing as he hinted to her he wanted to propose to her shortly after the party.

Bundle ends up going toe to toe with Superintendent Battle (Martin Freeman) as she investigates the death of the man she loves, who is also investigating the case. And at the centre of it all is a mysterious group called Seven Dials located in London, who seem linked with Gerry’s death.

Who killed Gerry Wade?

We discover that it was, in fact, Loraine – who is introduced as Gerry’s stepsister – who poisoned Gerry by lacing his champagne with sleeping draught and left the bottle by the bedside table to make it look like he overdosed himself.

This information is relayed to Bundle during something of a standoff at gunpoint on a moving train, where it is also revealed that her friend Jimmy Thesiger (My Lady Jane star Edward Bluemel) is involved in the plan, which involved pushing the Seven Dials group as suspects for Gerry’s murder and make it look like the group were involved by expanding on the clock prank began by his friends, which saw Gerry’s body discovered with numerous clocks ticking as an homage to the group. Jimmy explains that he needed to be part of the plan as he needed the money it would generate to cover his debts. The plan involved the theft of a formula that could start a war, so predictably was worth a lot of money from the highest bidder.

Who killed Ronnie Devereux?

Jimmy confessed that he shot Ronnie (Film Club‘s Nabhaan Rizwan), after he also investigated Gerry’s death a little bit too closely. When Bundle discovered Jimmy dying in the road, he did say Jimmy’s name, and this was why – he was trying to point her to his killer.

Who was behind the whole masterplan?

It is revealed in the final episode of Seven Dials that there was a mastermind behind the plan that Jimmy and Loraine were part of. Who had the brains and the contacts to bring this strategy together?
