Vampire nails took over the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party

At the start of the year, we told you that the vampire haircut was a style to watch in 2026. Now, vampire nails are the manicure trend that will perfectly complement your dark, romantic hair style.

An unexpected nail colour for spring, blood red manis appeared on some familiar faces at last night’s Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. From Rhode’s Hailey Bieber to Cara Delevingne and Sarah Paulson, various shades of red – from darker burgundy to bright red – kept popping up, signalling the incoming trend and one to watch out for as we enter spring.

As the mastermind behind more nail trends than we can count, when Hailey Bieber’s manicure talks, we listen. So, her fresh blood red nails paired with a leopard print dress – a callback to another nail trend she recently donned – feel like the perfect way to dip your tips into this trend. The perfect shade to transition from the cold start of spring to warmer days, it’s less dark, but no less seductive.

The desire for a dark, sexy manicure during the season that is usually known for pastels and florals is a welcome change and no doubt connected to the Gothenaissance – the cultural movement inspired by recent gothic films like Frankenstein, Nosferatu and Wuthering Heights. The best part of the trend is that whatever shade of red is your preference, it fits nicely with the vampire vibe.
