How I tested L’Oréal’s Revitalift Eye Serum:
I tested this eye serum for around four weeks so I could get a real feel for how it worked on my skin, rather than giving it the usual quick try and calling it a day. I mostly used it first thing in the morning because that’s when my skin is crying out for hydration, and when my under-eyes tend to look the puffiest.
As a beauty writer, I have busy days that can range from press events to back-to-back meetings, so what goes on my face is genuinely important to me. I paid attention to the ingredient list, how it felt on my sensitive eye area, how well it layered with the rest of my skincare, whether it disrupted my makeup, and most importantly, whether I could actually see a difference.
I also took before-and-after photos for this piece so I could properly track what it looked like on my skin with absolutely nothing else on it, and also took a photo with a full face of make up so you can see how it sat underneath my concealer and foundation.
Why you can trust me:
I’ve been a beauty writer for six years – five at The Mirror and the past year at Glamour – and testing skincare, haircare and makeup is part of my job. That means, I take what I put on my skin seriously – especially when it comes to products that are going near my eyes.
For every piece I write, I speak to dermatologists and skincare experts to get their take and help answer the questions you actually want to know. I also test products on my own skin and always give my honest opinion. If I love something, I’ll say it. If I don’t, I’ll say that too.
Also, hyaluronic acid has been a big part of my skincare routine for years now. It’s one of those ingredients I always come back to because my skin leans dry, and it’s brilliant for giving that plump, hydrated look. Luckily, it’s also one of those ingredients that turns up in everything these days, from moisturisers and serums to foundations and skin tints.
My experience using L’Oréal Revitalift 2.5% Hyaluronic Acid Eye Serum
A few years ago, eye serums didn’t really feel like a product category I thought much about. But fast forward to now, I’ve recently turned 30, and I’ve definitely become more focused on taking care of my eye area – especially seeing as it’s one of the first places to show signs ageing.
The first thing I noticed about this product was the applicator, which is easily the standout feature. It has a triple stainless steel rollerball tip that glides over the skin and instantly feels cooling. I actually popped it in the fridge before using it, which made it feel even better in the mornings. As someone who can wake up with quite puffy eyes, especially if I’ve had a busy week, it genuinely felt soothing and helped calm everything down almost straight away.
