The Night Manager is back for a second season – here’s when you can watch it

January is officially the time for hunkering down with blankets, hot chocolate and a good, old-fashioned twisty spy thriller. And The Night Manager season 2 provides all of the twists, turns and thrills you’re looking for.

Inspired by John Le Carré’s iconic 1993 post-Cold War novel of the same name, the show follows Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) – a former soldier, who goes undercover to expose Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie), an arms dealer running an international operation.

The first season of the show aired a full decade ago in 2016, and saw the protagonist expose the villain in an explosive finale.

In season 2, which arrived on our screens on New Year’s Day, we pick up with Pine nine years later. He is now working undercover as a low-level MI6 officer in London and going by the name Alex Goodwin. He’s living a pretty quiet existence… until he happens to spot a former associate of Roper’s and finds himself embroiled in another underground plot. Consider us hooked and locked in.
