Before we see Emma Myes return to Wednesday season two as Enid, she will be leading another dark mystery TV series. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, adapted from the beloved YA novel and BookTok hit by Holly Jackson, explores the story of a young girl determined to solve the mystery of a murder that occurred in her home town. It starts out as a school project investigation, but quickly turns into a much more all-consuming journey for protagonist Pip, played by Emma.
Here’s everything we know so far about A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder.
A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder plot
The BBC’s very compelling plot synopsis reads as follows: “Five years ago schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it.
“But smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it. If Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?”
Sally Mais
We see Pip team up with Sal’s brother Ravi to try and solve the mystery, delving into many issues along the way, including grappling with sexual identity and consent, leaked nudes and racism. It’s not just a mystery TV series, it’s a clever coming-of-age story about a young woman’s quest for a difficult truth.
