The best new books coming out this October

Ah, there’s nothing like the joy of getting stuck into new books, especially with the nights getting longer and the weather getting well and truly cooler. We are so here for those hours under the thickest of duvets, pumpkin spiced latte or hot chocolate in hand, with the best new books this month has to offer. It’s time for hibernation girl to make an entrance.

There’s nothing more that gives those cozy, autumnal vibes than a book you just can’t put down, and @thebibliofilles are here with some viral must-read new releases out this month, with something for every reader. There are a few that are going to close down #booktok for starters.

A new Coleen Hoover is always going to be huge, but when it’s the follow up to the phenomenon that is It Ends With Us, it’s an even bigger deal. It Starts with Us has just launched, alongside The First to Die from TikTok sensation Adam Silvera, and Nick Grimshaw’s Soft Lad (a wry and candid memoir).

Elsewhere, the one and only Celeste Ng has returned with her highly anticipated new novel, Our Missing Hearts, and The Atlas Paradox by Olivie Blake – which fantasy readers have been counting down for – is finally here, too. For our more literary readers, this month will also see the release of a duology from renowned author Cormac Mcarthy, the return of Barbara Kingsolver and a new book from John Irving.

If non-fiction is what you’re after, though, No Choice is a commanding discussion on the fall of Roe v Wade. The Racial Code is a must-read for Black History Month, and Greta Thurnburg, the girl with a mission to save our world, releases The Climate Book which all about the facts and solutions to Climate Change.
