The jellyfish haircut blew up at the Grammy’s. Now it seems slicked-back buns are taking over the BAFTAs 2025.
Sure, updo’s are a perennial favourite on the red carpet. With their clean, minimal lines, they’re the type of style that lets a carefully choreographed makeup look doing the talking.
But with not one, not two, but eight celebrities showcasing different iterations of a slicked-back bun at the BAFTAs 2025, it’s clearly a style to get to grips with for spring (whisper it: a slicked-back bun is also brilliant for second- or even third-day hair).
The tools you’ll need to recreate the look at home are hair oil (try Kerastase Elixir Ultime or Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil), an elastic and a brush – either a barber’s brush or a tooth brush – to ensure the hair on the crown lies flat (Larry King’s Flyway Kit is a good all-in-one option).
But if you need more convincing, here are the best slicked-back bun moments from the BAFTAs 2025 for more inspiration.
