Sabrina Carpenter has remixed her usual mani and we have some questions. Whenever I have much longer nails than usual, I find myself totally unable to function. My typos increase tenfold, I can’t grab the zip on my jeans on the first try, and I jab anyone I touch (usually by accident). I can’t help but wonder: Is the same true when someone who normally wears long nails suddenly goes short? Sabrina Carpenter, if you’re reading this, can you let me know?
The pop superstar is making her way around the world on a tour named after her album, Short n’ Sweet. And while most of her now iconic tour mug shots — photos of her holding a mug that displays the location of the city she’s playing — feature long nails gripping each ceramic cup, her latest manicure appears to be in keeping with the theme of the singer’s circuit.
Sabrina’s Instagram Stories reveal new short and sweet nails that barely extend beyond the tips of her fingers. In a mirror selfie that seems to have been taken right after her hair and makeup were done for her Paris concert (classic Sabrina ’90s-style bombshell curls, rosy-brown lips, across-the-bridge blush, and fully lined eyes), we can see that the manicure keeps it simple: pale, pearly pink with a super glossy finish.

For most of her recent red-carpet appearances, Sabrina has been seen wearing a significantly lengthier look. At the BRIT Awards and SNL 50 anniversary special, she wore especially sheer polishes on long, rounded nails, and she accepted her Grammys in a similar manicure — just with a few rhinestones on top.
But whether or not Carpenter feels more comfortable in long or short nails, one thing is clear (besides her topcoat): Her signature style looks fabulous on any length.
