Rihanna’s Fenty Hair has landed! But do the products live up to the hype?

Rihanna has had a busy week teasing an array of different lust-worthy hair looks – from natural curls to a sunflower blonde pixie – to mark the launch of Fenty Hair.

The multi-hyphenate singer-business woman-beauty mogul-fashion designer launched Fenty Beauty in 2017. Ever since, heroes such as the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and Match Stix Contour Skinsticks have become household names, let alone just cult buys in our routine.

With the fruitful popularity of her beauty products, it was only a matter of time before Rihanna launched into the hair category. “Hair has always been very personal to me—my hairstyles have been markers of my evolution,” she says.

On June 4, Rihanna posted the launch date for Fenty Hair on Instagram. As the count down to June 13 began, interest reached fever pitch – and with good reason.

Her nine-piece hair care and styling line – comprising one shampoo, two conditioners, one treatment, four stylers and one tool – was developed with all hair types and textures in mind, carrying over the “Beauty For All” ethos of her beauty products.

Despite the playful, tongue-in-cheek names, there’s science behind the brand, too. A core tenet of Fenty Hair is what the brand calls its “Replenicore-5 complex” – a powerhouse blend of Barbados gooseberry, upcycled jackfruit extract, hydrolysed vegetable protein, antioxidant green tea and amino acids – to help treat split ends, hydrate and beef up strands.

The warm, amber floral fragrance is also worth a mention – this is Rihanna we’re talking about after all, the celebrity many have namechecked as the best-smelling woman on earth. Predictably, Fenty Hair promises to smell just as heavenly.
