Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky ended their Met Gala evening in the most New York way possible: at a diner.
Late arrivals to the event (Rih gets there when she gets there), the pair wore Valentino (her) and Gucci (him) on the steps. Lest you think she is somehow disrespecting the Met et al., nope, she’s just one of those people who are late all the time. Remember when they held the curtain at Slave Play for her and then she texted during the show and the playwright was like, “She’s Rihanna, she can”? Well, she’s Rihanna, she can! Entertainment Tonight reports that the chart-topper’s look included a “silk cape made of embroidered white flowers and a 16-foot train. The cape featured 30 camellias, 500 petals, and 25 leaves and was crafted by 30 seamstresses.”
Later, the “Umbrella” singer changed into a cropped white blazer and low-slung white skirt for an after-party. The second look emphasised her baby bump (the couple are currently expecting their second child).
And after-after? A snack, of course. Just Jared reports that they were spotted at Remedy Diner on the Lower East Side enjoying a meal at 5 a.m. On the menu? Cake, cake, cake, cake. Okay, we don’t actually know what they ordered, but it was hard to make a meal joke out of “Rude Boy,” so.
Prior to the event, Rihanna got into the spirit of the night by honouring Karl Lagerfeld on Instagram. She posed in a fuzzy white dress with a black-and-white jacket and matching hat, and eyewear made from the Chanel logo of two interlocking C’s. “Not even Monday,” she teased.
Good news for fans! Rihanna is heading back to the recording studio. Sadly, it’s not for an album but to voice Smurfette in the next Smurfs movie. She does whatever she wants.
