Resin bangles will be everywhere come summer—and these are under £20

Call it deja vu, but the resin bangles made popular in the ‘70s and ’80s are making a comeback in a big way. No longer just for the Boho babe wearing their stone stacks with flared jeans or the disco queen clacking their plastic cuffs on the dance floor, 2025’s resin cuffs have now become this summer’s must-have accessory.

We’ve seen murmurings of it on the Saint Laurent autumn/winter 2024 runway, with models stomping the runway in Dune-esque looks accessorised with chunky, transparent bangles. Then, as every Devil Wears Prada disciple would know, the trend trickled down onto the high street, and swiftly got picked up by early adopters, AKA street-style girlies who wore them all over fashion month.

It’s just an earthier take on the Wonder Woman-style gold cuffs that we’ve seen on runways and on IG for a few years now, popularised by that stand-out Alaia show that had everyone drooling over their sculptural dresses and matching gold bangles.

Aussie label Dinosaur Designs has been making the resin bangle a core part of their design offering for several decades, and this season, creative directors and co-founders Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy put out one of their strongest collections yet, inspired by the deep richness of the chestnut. Marbly flat bangles are layered on top of crackly stone ones in between moments of golden brass for the perfect stack.

Our favourite fashion girlies have been styling them with aplomb, pairing them with lush suede looks for that Bohemia vibe or with sleek bags and minimalist dresses for a modern spin.

Resin bangles also add a bit of texture to a floaty summer frock and can easily be stacked as high up the arm as you’d like to create a statement accessory moment to dress up even the simplest summer dress. Or, pair them with a cool, denim-on-denim look and aviator sunglasses and watch the bangles pop against the blue.

And you want to know where resin bangles win for summer? They’re also water-proof, which means you can take it straight from the lounge deck into the pool. Oh, and most sets come just under £20. Minimal cost, maximum impact. Now that’s an accessory trend we can get behind!
