Pendant necklaces are certainly having a moment. This summer, necklaces have been getting longer and bolder, and in the coming months, we’re predicting that necklaces are going to become even more prominent than ever. Taking a look at the catwalks so far, it’s clear that long, statement-making pendant necklaces will be all the rage.
Over open blouses (ideally boho chic with plenty of ruffles), jumpers and dresses, we will be seeing a long of oversized pendants dangling from long chains.
Designers like Ralph Lauren, Chloé and Gucci have all made pendant necklaces the centrepieces of their looks. With oversized stones, hearts or reinvented vintage elements, these pieces can be worn solo so that they become the main event. And, for the more daring, you can also combine them with other thinner chains to create contrast. The key is to let them breathe: a V-neckline, a slightly unbuttoned blouse or a relaxed knit sweater are the perfect backdrop for them to shine on their own.

The trends suggest that we will also lean towards handcrafted finishes, soft shapes, natural elements and aged metals, which brings a timeless air to these statement pieces. They certainly have a lot to say. The main goal when investing? The bigger and the more striking, the better.
