Netflix’s latest period drama The Decameron has dropped, and we are super intrigued.
Set in the 1300s, it tells the story of a group of people who hole themselves up in an Italian villa to evade the Black Death.
“As the Black Death ravages Florence, a group of nobles and their servants retreat to the countryside Villa Santa,” the show’s plot synopsis reads. “As they attempt to wait out the plague in the hills of Tuscany with wine and sex, the protagonists eventually must fight for their survival.
The series’ cast is jam-packed with stars, so below we’ve tracked down what TV series or movies you might recognise them from.
Meet The Decameron cast
Here’s what we know about the cast of Netflix’s The Decameron, including where you might have seen them before.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays Misia
Roy Rochlin
One of the famed and much-loved Derry Girls is taking on her next role.
According to TUDUM, Misia is said to be “the codependent servant of Pampinea (Zosia Mamet)”. “Misia adores her demanding master and derives much self-worth from pleasing her”.
Saoirse herself has called her character the most “pathetic” character with the lowest levels of self esteem, but that doesn’t mean we should underestimate her strength. You might also recognise the actor from The Flash and Upgraded.
