Mini Egg nails are the spring trend that’s good enough to eat

With spring finally here and Easter fast-approaching, egg-themed looks are popping up all over the FYP and the tastiest-looking has to be Mini Egg nails.

Inspired by the tasty chocolate treat, the nail trend feels almost engineered to perfectly work for spring. Just like the Cadbury eggs, the Mini Egg manicure trend sees nails mimic cute pastel shades with the signature speckled finish.

A versatile nail trend, the Mini Egg nails you choose are up to you – go for a full manicure of pastels or keep things minimal with elegant French tips. Some of our faves push things further, with melting chocolate drips, curving swirls or Easter egg-themed jagged eggshell shapes.

But choosing a look and achieving it are two very different things and while it looks complex, creating Mini Egg nails yourself at home couldn’t be easier. Once you’ve painted your pastel shades – a mix of shades is the best – the most straightforward way of achieving the signature finish is using a variety of speckled nail polishes like Mylee No Wipe Top Coat Gel Polish in Speckled Matte or Make Me Amazing Gel Polish in Black Swan.

But there’s something about the various DIY hacks we’ve seen that is just as appealing and leaves your nails with a unique finish. From using a kitchen sponge (it has to be seen to be believed) to old (washed) mascara wands or even a dotting tool – there are still plenty of options if you don’t have speckled nail polish to hand.

Need some more inspiration before Easter arrives? Here are some of our fave Mini Egg nails to save for your next manicure.
