On March 25 Millie Bobby Brown reposted a video from her partnership with UNICEF, which also happened to be the first appearance of her new bob. Brown’s new crop is blunt, and in the video she wears it centre parted and lightly waved. She offered fans another glimpse of the new ’do in an IG story posted on the 25th, where she sampled the Soft Girl mist on her still-wet curly bob.
In February Brown dyed her hair from golden brown to platinum blonde and began emulating the voluminous hairstyles of ’90s icons like Pamela Anderson and Jessica Simpson, with the red carpet outfits to match. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the change-up inspired a slew of misogynistic comments from people who seemed to think that Brown was suddenly dressing older than her age. But Brown hit back at the hate with an Instagram video of her own. “Let’s talk about the articles, the headlines, the people who are so desperate to tear young women down,” she wrote in the caption. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse. We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks. Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs.”
