A day after yet another man’s unsolicited fatphobia about Lizzo went viral, the artist herself appeared to clap back at the comment while performing a concert in Toronto.
“I feel like everybody in America got my motherf***ing name in their motherf***ing mouth for no motherfucking reason,” Lizzo said on stage in a video captured by Canadian outlet ETalk. “I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business.”
Just a few days after American conservatives lost their minds over Lizzo playing James Madison’s flute — at the invitation of the Library of Congress — Kanye West went viral for calling Lizzo’s body-positivity “demonic” and likening it to a genocide of the Black race, per Insider.

We don’t need to give Ye’s nonsense any more airtime than is strictly necessary, but if I’m completely exhausted by all the hate and body-shaming directed at Lizzo, I can only imagine how tired she’s feeling right now. “Can I stay here,” Lizzo asks the crowd in Toronto in the video to screams of “Yes!” She asks, “Who can I marry for that dual citizenship?”
Lizzo is simply too busy recording bops and topping charts to keep responding to all this nonsense. Plus, she has more important statements to make on stage. Like, for example, FaceTiming a guy who’d been stringing along one of her fans and calling him out on stage.
