On Sunday, she posted a reel detailing the Halloween decorations adorning her house, including ghoulish skulls and dismembered body parts, with the caption “Halloween decor 2023”. It’s a full on haunted house, complete with all the spiderwebs and other creepy details a horror fan could dream of.
“I really went all out this year,” the caption read. But this commitment to the scary season has not been received well, with critics calling Kim and her decorations “so out of touch with reality” and a “sick display of wealth”.
There were many references to the conflict between Israel and Palestine, with critics calling the elaborate Halloween decs “such a waste of money that could go to so many things. Waste. Read the room”. Another posted: “This is so appallingly senseless not to mention tasteless, given the actual horror occurring in the world right now”.
“You guys went too far, it’s actually uncomfortable to watch,’ one wrote, while a separate fan added “the lack of consciousness and compassion is baffling!”
Both ongoing foreign conflicts and cost of living crises are likely to have contributed to the criticisms of the no-doubt extremely expensive display. One called it “Tone deaf to what some parts of the world are going through, money doesn’t buy taste or morals”, with another calling Kim Kardashian’s efforts a “sick display of wealth”.

Others have hit back trying to defend Kim and her decorations, pointing out that she can spend her money any way she pleases. “I don’t understand why people are so mad at this lady for having money. What she does with it is her business,” one posted.
