Hope of a potential Kaos season 2 has sadly been scuppered by the news that Netflix has cancelled the show after just one season despite the first season spending several weeks in Netflix’s Top 10 rankings internationally.
With season 1 arriving on Netflix on August 29, the series from The End Of The F**king World‘s Charlie Covell saw Jeff Goldblum taking on the role of Zeus in a brilliantly dark comedy based on the weird and wonderful world of Greek mythology.
Through Kaos we see Zeus frantically trying to prevent the unfolding of a prophecy that foretells his downfall, with him finding himself bound to three mortals along the way.
Previously, the show’s creator Charlie Covell had said in an interview with Radio Times that he had plans for several seasons, explaining “The idea is three seasons in total. So, that’s what I have kind of in my brain… I would love to do more.”
So why won’t Goldblum and gang be returning for Kaos season 2? Here’s everything we know.
The disappointing news came after Aurora Perrineau who plays Riddy in the series seemed to prematurely share the news in a post on Instagram ahead of an official announcement.
In a post on Instagram which was deleted after 20 minutes and re-uploaded the following day, Perrineau said “Well… this one hurts. I find explaining how I’m feeling to be really difficult, but I’ll try.
“When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, mainly due to the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts resonated with me in a way most things hadn’t. I knew all of these people, and I loved them all – every flaw, everything.
“For one of the first times in my life, I have found myself really proud. I’m, of course, proud of everyone’s work and the care they gave to this project, because, let me tell you, they left everything on the floor. But I’ve also found myself proud of me, and that is something I’ve struggled with.
