Jessie Buckley channelled 1950s Grace Kelly on the Oscars 2026 red carpet

Jessie Buckley may have won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2026 Oscars for her role in Hamnet, but if there was also an official “Best Dressed” award there’s no doubt that she would have taken that home too.

With a red carpet look that was both contemporary but also entirely timeless, Jessie instantly outdid all of her previous – and, crucially, also incredibly major – dresses this 2026 awards season.

Having worn some particularly beautiful creations by Dior, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta for previous ceremonies over the last few weeks, stylist Danielle Goldberg looked to none other than Chanel to dress the Best Actress nominee for the Oscars.

Combining a soft, bubblegum pink skirt with a bold, off-the-shoulder wrap cape in a contrasting red, there’s no doubt that Jessie had an award-winning look about her before her category was even announced.

Both elegant and playful, it is that seamless mix of genres that makes it one of the most beautiful fashion moments of the evening.

Together with her short, side-swept bob, red lipstick and minimalist jewellery, she created an overall look that combines classic Hollywood glamour with a truly modern red-carpet feel.
