The UKLASH Black Friday sale has officially kicked off, and seeing as my holy grail hair growth serum has been dropped to £28 down from £40 – it felt like the perfect time to share my honest review. I used this serum in the run-up to my wedding and, while I was sceptical at first, the change in my hair genuinely shocked me.
My hair has always been fairly thick, but length? A completely different story. Years of bleaching – from my questionable dip-dye phase to a very committed balayage era – left my ends dry, brittle and stubbornly unwilling to grow. And trust me, as a beauty journalist, I’d tried every hack out there to get it past my shoulders: rosemary-oil scalp massages, regular salon trims (RIP bank balance), and more hair masks than I care to admit. Yet nothing ever made a real difference.
Tester: Shani Cohen, Glamour’s Beauty Commerce Writer.
Testing time: 3 months (12 weeks).
With my wedding coming up (and me getting a little bit desperate to actually see some growth), I decided to put my investigative journalism skills to the test to find the very best hair serums for growth that actually work. I also enlisted the help of trichologist and hair salon owner Deborah Maguire, who explained to me: “Hair growth serums work by creating a more optimal environment for the follicle. They can help to stimulate blood circulation to nourish the root, calm inflammation that restricts growth, extend the hair’s growth phase and deliver active ingredients that help ‘wake up’ sluggish follicles.” Sold.
After testing the very best eyelash serums ahead of my wedding too, one brand stood out in particular: UKLASH. Having used it for almost a year, the difference in my eyelashes was huge, so when they launched their own UKLASH UKHAIR Hair Growth Serum, it felt only fair to give the hair on my head the same level of love.
What’s actually inside the UKLASH Hair Growth Serum?
The ingredient lineup is seriously impressive, and where this serum really shines. The star of the show is AnaGain™ (pea sprout extract), a plant-based complex rich in amino acids that supports the natural hair growth cycle by encouraging follicles back into action.
There’s also lemon fruit water, which delivers vitamin C to strengthen the follicle, and turmeric, known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory properties that help keep the scalp balanced. While it doesn’t promise overnight results, the ingredients are well thought out and have been formulated to protect and improve your hair and scalp health over time.
How do you apply the UKLASH Hair Growth Serum?
To get the best results, I used it once a day for 3 months, applying 1-2 pipettes straight onto my dry scalp and massaging it in. The texture is genuinely one of my favourite things about it. It’s super lightweight, dries quickly and doesn’t leave my roots greasy which meant I didn’t have to wash my hair after using it, or scrape it back in a pony – my go-to greasy hair hack.
Now for the honest bit. This isn’t a quick fix, it does take time and patience. I didn’t notice anything dramatic at first, but around the 12-week mark I started seeing new growth around my temples, where I’d previously had shedding. From then on, my hair slowly started looking longer, shinier and just… healthier. Not to big myself up, but I constantly get asked whether my hair’s natural, or if I’m wearing extensions which is the best compliment (IMO).
According to UKLASH, many customers notice new growth around temples and hairlines within 3-6 months. Users report thicker, stronger hair and reduced shedding, particularly those experiencing thinning due to menopause, stress, or other factors.
