How to style corsets IRL for winter 2026

The red carpet season is in full swing, but among all the floor-sweeping gowns and foot-numbingly high heels, there’s been something of a recurring surprise appearance over recent weeks. No, we’re not talking about sculptural updos (although Raye takes the crown for that one, no competition), but rather corsets. Lots of corsets.

Less restrictive than the trend the name is traditionally associated with, these more contemporary iterations of the corset are actually much more like a super sexy take on the bustier top.

So you can forget those heavily boned, ‘waist-training’, breath-restricting styles of yore, and definitely forget the lace-laden burlesque styles; these corsets are all about expressing femininity, exuding confidence, and feeling empowered.

Championed frequently by the likes of Schiaparelli and Christian Siriano on the runway over recent seasons, it wasn’t until now that the trend started to make serious waves IRL.

With everyone from Hailey Bieber and Tate McCrae to Kim Kardashian, Anok Yai, Ella Purnell and Laufey opting for one over recent months, we’re officially calling it: the corset is back.

Of course, thanks to couture fashion week in Paris, we’ve also been blessed with a number of suitably extra high-fashion takes on the trend spotted outside the shows.

But while A-listers often opt to pair theirs with a super sexy skirt or a particularly on-trend, low-rise trousers – and street style stars with super voluminous sheaths of fabric – we’ve got our eye on a much more wearable way to style the trend.

Jeans-and-a-nice-top, anyone? Tops don’t come much ‘nicer’ than this, after all…

To achieve full Gen Z status, wear your denim low-rise and opt for a corset that’s slightly cropped, giving you that visible hip that’s all over our FYP right now.

If you’re not looking to go viral on TikTok, you can make like Kim Kardashian and wear your corset tucked into a high-rise pair of jeans.

Or, or course, if you’re into the low-rise look but less so the exposed hip, opt for a longer corset style that gives a little more coverage.

Scroll down to see our pick of the best corsets to shop – and pair with your jeans – right now…
