Caitlyn Jenner will reveal a new side of Kardashian family life in House of Kardashian, a forthcoming three-part documentary series from Sky.
The show, produced by 72 Films, will “confound expectations and challenge what society knows of the Kardashians, exploring their rise, reach and the cost that comes with being some of the most famous women on the planet.” The show will feature interview content with Jenner – and similar first-person insights from others close to the family – together with “unseen archival footage”.
It’s been a while since the 73-year-old former Olympian, who is the the ex-partner of Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner and father to Kendall & Kylie, commented on her relationship with her former family. Her contribution in the documentary will follow on from Caitlyn’s 2017 memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, published shortly after her gender transition – which gave a candid perspective on her marriage to Kris.
While the memoir didn’t give the most rose-tinted perspective of the pair’s 23 years together – in one episode of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians series, released shortly after the memoir’s publication, Kris claims she is depicted as a “bitch and an asshole”, adding, “everything she says is all made up” – it seems the documentary will offer a more positive view of Caitlyn’s relationship with her wider family.
In a statement commenting on House of Kardashian, she said: “I was happy to participate in the interview process to share my side, which points to the strength, influence, and prowess my family has in captivating the world’s attention and keeping it over the years. I am incredibly proud of all my children and stepchildren.”
Poppy Dixon, Director of Documentaries and Factual at Sky, said of the show: “Whether you like, loathe or are indifferent to the Kardashians, you cannot deny the family’s grip on popular culture and influence on society. The story behind how these women redefined the word ‘dynasty’, all whilst our attitude to celebrity, race and women has changed, is inspiring, thought-provoking and tells us so much about ourselves.”
While the exact release date is unknown, we know the show will premiere on Sky Documentaries and NOW in autumn.
