The Year of the Fire Horse, bringing transformative energy and independence, has well and truly influenced H&M’s Studio SS26 collection.
It’s said that, as well as representing high-energy and rapid movement, this year is all about taking action. This is not the time for exhaustive planning (hard for my Virgo ears to hear), but rather making resolutions a reality. And what gives means-business energy? Tailoring. Which is exactly what grounds the H&M Studio SS26 line-up.
Embracing its eccentric side, this coming season also sees the brand exploring asymmetry, unexpected proportions and cuts, and interplay of colour that just makes sense. It balances the strength of a checked coat and sharp black blazer with the softness of pastel hues and voluminous sleeves, and I’m wholeheartedly here for it.
“The eccentric muse of H&M Studio SS26 lives in contrast – soft yet bold, playful yet precise,” concurs Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor and head of design womenswear at H&M.
“She dresses for the joy of becoming herself. That’s why the collection spans everything from tailoring and denim to sweet dresses and soft loungewear-type separates. Depending on the moment, it can morph into whatever she needs, wherever she’s going,” she adds.
With this drop and the imminent Stella McCartney H&M collaboration, it’s looking to be a great year for the high-street favourite. Are we surprised? Not really.
H&M Studio SS26 is launching in select stores and online at hm.com on the 5th March, but you can browse my favourite pieces from the entire lookbook below now and get bookmarking ahead of time.
