Mood boards for the aesthetic have inevitably featured Halle Bailey. Last night, the star leaned into that look, while also making a notable nod to Y2K makeup, with swooshes of frosted eyeshadow that skewed icy blue or silver depending on how the light hit – just like real scales do when bathed in sunlight.
Long lashes and an inky black cat eye completed the eye look.
Continuing the 2000s vibe, she swapped the curled bob she debuted at the Met Gala for waist-length mermaid locs and a cherry cola hue.
In short, Halle not only captured the ethereal beauty of Princess Ariel but she looked seriously fit for a party under the sea, too.
