As a supermoon glows bright over Los Angeles, Gwyneth Paltrow is taking a cue from her crystals and recharging. The actor and Goop founder announced a social media break for the summer, and I am bleeding from every orifice in my body from the stress of trying to figure out how the woman who popularised juicing didn’t call this a social media cleanse. That’s her job! It’s just…“cleanse.” Anyway, she’s going offline for a bit.

“Taking this full moon energy with me as I go into a social media break. Going to work on being present. Happy summer 💕,” the Shakespeare in Love star captioned a pic of herself chillin’ in a backyard. The photo was taken by John Benjamin Hickey, an actor who has been in a bunch of stuff but is probably most recognisable to the likes of us as one of Max Wolfe’s dads in the Gossip Girl reboot.

“Hope it’s not for some mean comments that some frustrated people make… Your posts are full of positive energy ☀️💓,” wrote one commenter, and without speaking for ski queen Paltrow, I think I can confidently say that she has never and will never care about the comments. But she might care enough about the optics of the SAG-AFTRA strike (she’s married to a writer-producer, so that’s complicated) to dip out until it’s over.

What will she be doing during her hiatus from the ’gram? Prepping for guests, I guess. She recently partnered with Airbnb to fight loneliness by renting her guest house in Montecito out to strangers friends she hasn’t met yet.

Specifically, two guests for one night, which is September 9.

I mean this with complete sincerity: This upcoming break from social media will hopefully give Gwyneth Paltrow some mental space to come up with her most out-of-touch idea yet, and I genuinely cannot wait to see what that is!
