As we shake loose our blankets and pack up our bikinis, we admit that summer is over, and what a glorious, bratty season it was. Gigi Hadid is marking the transition into the school year by abandoning the grown-out platinum hair she’d been sporting for an all-over shade that’s slightly easier to maintain, the soft and warm cashmere blonde.
Gigi was spotted in New York City running errands on 24th September, sporting what’s clearly a fresh cut and colour. The colour is a glowy shade that’s just a tad darker than what she’d been wearing over the last year.

“Cashmere blonde” is achieved through all-over highlighting. “Clients are asking me for softer blondes that aren’t so bold,” top London hair colourist Gemma Smidmore told GLAMOUR, adding, “with cashmere blonde, you get this soft look, and the regrowth is so forgiving because it’s been woven so finely when it’s created. This also helps with the hair quality and condition because you don’t have to use loads of bleach to create this look. It’s a real mixture of tones.”
“What blonde doesn’t want their colour to look expensive?” Gemma explained. “It’s super soft, blending cool and warm tones into your hair with super-fine, delicate, little woven lights.… It creates a lightweight, luxurious blonde that grows out without any harsh lines.”

Lengthwise, Gigi Hadid has been in the ear-to-chin zone since March, when she chopped off her long hair on camera. And she’s having fun with it. The pinned-up bob from her Miu Miu campaign was an especially cute vintage moment.
