Despite his colourful outfits and emotionally open songwriting, Styles is famously private — and in recent years, he’s been especially elusive. He’s quite literally been everywhere except the recording studio. Since his last tour, he’s completed the Berlin and Tokyo marathons, been spotted partying at Berlin’s legendary Berghain nightclub, and even cropped up at Pope Leo XIV’s announcement in Rome.
After wrapping Love On Tour in 2023, Styles took a deliberate step back from the spotlight, sharing a heartfelt message thanking fans and promising he’d “see you again when the time is right.”
Still, the clues keep coming. A sighting of Styles in Berlin alongside close collaborator Kid Harpoon had fans convinced new music was in the works. Other reports suggested he may be drawing inspiration from David Bowie’s Berlin era in the 1970s — a creatively explosive period that produced some of his best music.
